Statistical Training Workshops

KISS Consulting is proud to offer ongoing statistics training workshops covering a large range of statistical knowledge, tests, and techniques from basic to advanced. Our workshops are usually offered after school/work hours on weekdays and on weekends. Our small class size of up to 10 participants is aiming to provide an interactive, engaging, practical and fulfilling learning experience to you. For those who participate in more than 4 workshops, we offer them a FREE two-hour consultation service to support their own research projects.

We also provide customized statistical training workshops to best address your needs and limitations. Simply write us an email at (info@akissconsulting.com) to indicate your topics of interest and we will design a program for you.

KISS I-Introduction to Applied Statistics (Each workshop lasts 3 hours with a rate of $300 per person at this level) (Students* enjoy a discounted rate of 20% OFF!)

A newbie in statistics? Or looking for a refresher for the statistics courses you took ages ago in college? KISS I is the right level for you.  We won’t teach you how to calculate z scores with a given formula. Come on, other than mathematicians and statisticians (who have our wholehearted respect), who needs to remember the formula and algorithms since nowadays computer software does that for you? But we will guarantee you understand the concepts perfectly and know to how apply t-tests with 100% confidence (not just 95% confidence) after the workshops.

KISS 101 (important and often overlooked points about data and pitfalls in data analysis, how to classify data, get familiar with SAS/SPSS, how to build up your dataset, how to do descriptive statistical analysis (i.e. mean, standard deviation, cross-tabulation))

KISS 102 (understand the measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode), how to check normality, how to transform descriptive statistics (i.e. mean, standard deviation, cross-tabulation) into APA-style tables/graphs,

KISS 103 (how to develop statistically valid hypothesis, how to build sample size calculations, how to implement good sampling strategies to avoid sampling errors, Type I and II error, Z-test statistics)

KISS 104 (when should we use a one-sample t-test, independent-sample t-test, paired-sample t-tests, what to do if the data is greatly skewed (non-normal distribution), introduction to non-parametric tests such as the Wilcoxon rank sum test, Wilcoxon signed rank test, chi-square test, how to interpret  the results of statistical tests)

* Valid proof of student status must be presented to enjoy the discount.

KISS II-Intermediate Applied Statistics (Each workshop lasts 3 hours with a rate of $300 per person at this level) (Students* enjoy a discount rate of 20% OFF!)

Wow, it seems like you changed your preconceived notion of statistics and think that statistics may not be so bad after all… Excellent! Since you learned how to crawl, now you want to try to walk and even to run? Sure, we would hold your hands to help you achieve that. This level, covering analysis of variance (ANOVA) and linear regression, is for those who have a foundation in basic statistics.

KISS 201 (review of T-tests and non-parametric tests, introducing between-groups and within-groups one-way ANOVA, introducing the non-parametric analogue to ANOVA, interpreting the results and transform them into APA-style table/graphs,)

KISS 202 (More advanced applications in ANOVA and ANCOVA (Factorial ANOVA, Post-Hoc Analysis, ANCOVA and Repeated Measures ANOVA), interpreting the results and transform them into APA-style table/graphs)

KISS 203 (Measures of reliability, Exploratory/Confirmatory Factor Analysis, and Principal Components Analysis)

KISS 204 (Correlation is not causation, all you need to know about Linear Regression (aka. Ordinary least squares) and multiple regression, Introducing other advanced models)

* Valid proof of student status must be presented to enjoy the discount.

KISS III-Advanced Applied Statistics (Each workshop lasts 3 hours with a rate of $400 per person at this level) (Students* enjoy a discount rate of 10% OFF!)

Hmmm, you are having fun learning and using statistics, aren’t you? Let’s spice it up, and make you to become a PRO of stats following these 4 sessions of statistics BOOTCAMP.  This series covers advanced statistical models including…..logistic and Poisson regression, structural equation modeling, survival analysis and hierarchical modeling.

KISS 301 (other regression modeling techniques: Weighted Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Ordinal Regression and Poisson Regression)

KISS 302 (Discriminant Analysis, Path Analysis, Structural Equation Modeling)

KISS 303 (Survival Analysis: the Kaplan Meier curve, the log rank test, Cox proportional hazards models )

KISS 304 (Hierarchical Models, Techniques for handling missing data such as multiple imputation, Bootstrap simulation methods)

* Valid proof of student status must be presented to enjoy the discount.
